Your privacy matters — especially in a community that includes young racers. This policy explains what we collect and why.

This Privacy Policy describes how SponsorMyRC (“SponsorMyRC,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Platform”). SponsorMyRC is a platform that connects RC racers with people who want to support them; we do not hold, process, or transfer contribution funds.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Racer profile content: display name, race number, team, home track, class, biography, photos, vehicles, wishlist items, funding goals, sponsorship tiers, and the payment links you choose to connect.
- Sponsor information: name, business name, logo, website, and any message you send when you support a racer.
- Communications: messages sent through the Platform and reports you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics: pages viewed, profile views, and clicks on retailer, payment, and tier links, used to give racers aggregate statistics.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, and similar technical data.

What we do not do with your money
We never collect, hold, or process the contributions sponsors send to racers. Those payments happen directly between the sponsor and the racer through third-party services. We do not receive your full payment card numbers or bank details. Platform subscription billing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store your full card number.
How we use information
- To operate your profile and the Platform, and to display the content you choose to make public.
- To provide racers with analytics about their page.
- To enable messaging and coordinate shipping and recognition.
- To protect the community — detecting fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- To communicate with you about your account and service updates.
Sensitive protections for minors
Profiles for racers under 18 are guardian-managed and private by default. We do not publicly display a minor’s home address or exact age, and messages involving a minor are visible to the managing guardian. See our Minor Safety Policy. We do not knowingly allow a minor to create an unmanaged account.
How we share information
- Publicly, as you choose: the content you publish on a public racer page is visible to anyone.
- With service providers: hosting, analytics, email, and subscription billing providers who process data on our behalf.
- For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your address is never shown publicly
When you provide a shipping address, it is encrypted and never rendered on a public page. You choose how physical items reach you, including options that never reveal your address.
Your choices and rights
- Access, update, or correct your profile information at any time from your dashboard.
- Set your profile to private or non-discoverable.
- Request deletion of your account and data — see Data Deletion.
- Manage cookies through your browser and our cookie controls.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
